At the conclusion of a gruelling 8 hours of competition on Cannock Chase there were only 7 points separating the new British Mens Champion Ian Cartwright from Nick Dallimore.
Day I saw Ian clear the course and achieve 510 points to Nicks 500 while on day 2 fortunes were reversed with Nick beating Ian by 3 points. Needless to say both won their age categories Ian at M50 and Nick at M60. A very fine performance by both guys.
In the overall Ladies competition Charlie Sumers Cocks retained her title after a battle royal with Sheila Pearce. Charlies magnificent 5th place overall on day 2 proving decisive. 926 to 890. Again both topped their age classes.

But possibly more important than the results were the great setting, weather and friendly atmosphere that accompanied the competition.
We had competitors from as far afield as Cornwall and Scotland in addition to a number of regular Midlanders.
