Mark Nixon Apr 27th 2010, 4:17pm |
Hi, I'm looking to scrounge a pick up from Sanquhar train station for the BMBO Champs middle race. It's just 10m up the road, so isn't a massive diversion. I would be very grateful as I don't really want to ride down to the event with all my stuff for the weekend. If you can help email, mark_nixon_gbr(at)yahoo.co.uk |

Anyone got any ideas as to where they want to stay? Campsites sans le midge?! Luxury accomodation with pools? |

Didn't we all pile into the Beeswing campsite last time? Anyone got any better ideas? |
Ben Plowman Apr 28th 2010, 10:28pm |
Sounds good - was planning on camping but don't mind where. |

There is a nice place out near Dalbeattie, Urr Lodge, I rang them today and they have a 4 bedded bunk room @ £15 each, and 2 x Twin rooms @ £20 each, 8 beds in total. They have secure bike lock-up maintenance and wash down facility, drying room free wifi, free-view TV, DVD player etc. Good local pubs as well. It's 13m from Dumfries, so 30mins from Mabie and 60mins from Drumlanrig. Are people interested? If so I will ring back and book the beds. I might just ing back and book the bunk-room of 4 beds and fill that up, if other people want to come then there are the two twin rooms also. These beds are all available Fri & Sat. Are people coming up late Friday or early Saturday? |

Hi Mark Please book Andy Conn and I in for Sat night if that's OK? Thanks for organising. Andrew |

Hi Mark, I would like to join you if there is still a space. |

4 beds booked on Saturday 8th for Conn, Windrum, Plowman and Nixon. The bunk-room got taken in between me calling this morning and evening, so it's two twin rooms @ £20 per head. Is this still OK with you guys If more people want to find accommodation, then I can recommend Gorsebank, www.gorsebank.comm which is also next to Dalbeattie. They have wooden camping huts available. Although I think it's 2 nights minimum (might be worth haggling, 1 nights income is better than none...) Andrew, Andy, Benjamin; Where are you guys traveling from? Anyone have room for a man and a bike? You'll be coming off at the Gretna junction of the M6, so I can meet you there. I'll pay petrol money and bring haribo. |

Hi Mark I'm giving Conn a lift and coming through Gretna but I might also be giving Ben a lift. I'm waiting for Ben to get back to me and then I'll let you know. Andrew |

Andrew - mentioned on the other thread that I'm going up via Lancaster now, thank you for offer. |

I'll be coming down from Edinburgh on the train. Gretna Green station is the best, it's at the M6 junction where southerners have to turn off to head into Dumfries. I'll go in whichever car has the most space. I'm guessing it's going to be afternoon starts, so when they come out we can work out timings. |

For those of us who have not booked the luxury bunk house accommodate there is a suggestion to camp at the Beeswing site that we were on last time we could still all then meet up on the Saturday evening. It is mile past village of Beeswing off the A711 heading towards Dalbeattie from Dumfries. Phone: 01387 760242 Last time I think we phoned ahead and booked some places although I do not imagine it will be packed EDITOR - the link to the next pages is not working, to get there use http://www.bmbo.org.uk/forum/post.php?post_id=34&page=2 Last edited May 5th 2010, 10:17pm by Admin Houlihan (Moderator) |
