Seems there's a move towards more Saturday events which makes competing difficult for me for one. Is Sunday becoming a day of rest? Sundays are much easier for me. Anybody else have views on Sat vs Sun? |

I find Saturday is easier for me. My other half always seems to think of jobs I really have to do on Sundays while she can usually entertain herself on Saturdays and doesn't notice my absence. It's not too bad for local events when I'm back by lunchtime but more distant or longer events are a problem on Sundays |

I think the move in MTBO is generally due to the amount of Foot-O/XC events on Sundays. Most Orienteers wouldn't give up their Sunday Forest sesh, so Saturdays tend to encourage more people to turn up to events. The Southern MBO Series decided to put the vast majority of its events on Saturdays simply because often the Orienteering clubs are organising other races the next day - and we've noticed a vast difference in the numbers competing! I can't speak for trailquests etc.! |

Just another thought to add............from an organisers point of view I find Sundays better as it gives you Saturday to put the controls out. |

As Emily says, Sunday is for orienteering. Personally, I can't think of a better w/e than MBO on Sat and orienteering on Sunday, and orienteering will improve your navigation skills! Last edited Mar 28th 2011, 1:39pm by Karen Blackburn |
