Another great day for the British team out in Portugal for the European and World MTBO Championships, with a haul of 7 medals in the long distance race.
Emily Benham won the Elite women's race in the European championships, after a near perfect race in the steep, rocky terrain that played host to the days racing.
In the masters categories, Charlie Somers-Cocks carried on her gold medal winning streak by winning the W55 class in the final of the three race lengths. In the M40 class, Andrew Windrum bettered his bronze medal in the sprint event by finishing just off the top spot in silver medal position. Andy Conn and Kilian Lomas finished 2nd and 3rd, respectively, in the M45 race; again showing British dominance in the category. And finally, Tony Brand Barker and Caroline Dalimore both came home with a bronze medal in the M55 and W60 classes, topping off a great day for the British team.
Tomorrow is the final day of the championships, where the British masters will try to rake in a couple more medals in the World Relay Championships and concluding an amazing week in British MTBO.
