Inter Club Shield
The interclub Shield will be supplied and supported by the Midlands Mbo. Any damages or changes to the trophy will be done by Midlands Mbo. The Shield will be held by winning club for the previous year up to the end of the current year.
Rules for interclub Shield.
1- Only groups that are recognised by BMBO as orienteering groups will be eligible. Currently BLACK MOUNTAINS, LAKES MBO, MIDLANDS MBO, NYMBO, SLOW. Other groups may be added.
2- E-Bike riders score for each event will be calculated at 80% of event result, for the Shield score. IF THEY ARE FIRST, THEN 80% OF 15 POINTS=12. IF THEY ARE SECOND THEN 80% OF 14=11.2 BUT ROUND IT DOWN TO 11 (IF OVER .5 ROUND UP, IF UNDER .5 THEN ROUND DOWN)
3- Riders within a 30-mile radius of the main group organiser/Postcode will be allocated to that group Automatically. However, the rider can change his allocation if they want to. Riders outside of the 30-MILE area must choose their group to ride for. All riders must be identified with a group at sign in for the event attended, counting events only. There will be a spreadsheet given to the organiser of the event to populate and send back to Nuno Cerqueira for processing.
Black mountains Abergavenny
SLOW GROUP Guildford sports park GU27AD
Lakes MBO Kendal
Midlands MBO - LE113LZ
NYMBO York
4- Once a rider has chosen a group to ride for, then they will keep that group for the whole event year. No rider can swap groups within the year but can change groups the next event year.
5- The Inter group shield will run 1st Nov to 31st October as per the National League year.
6- There will be 3 scoring events per Group that will be chosen by each group main organiser, so there will be 15 events that contribute to the year total. No events chosen can happen on the same day, so dates need to be secured early. Events that are nominated as a SHIELD event will be advertised as such on the description box for the event on BMBO Site.
7- At each event the first 15 riders will score towards the group total. IE; First place 15 points, second 14 points and so on. This will generate a 120 point total potential per event. If there is a tie at an event for first place then both get 15 points, 3rd place gets 13 and so on. If there is a tie (Group year score) at end of year, then the most wins/seconds/thirds etc per group will determine the winner.
8- All rider categories will be counted towards the group total.
9- The Shield will be presented to the winning team at first event of the next year.

The understanding of this initiative is to acknowledge riders further down the finishing order on an event. This way riders can bring their group to the forefront of the sport and all can take credit for this. The Shield will be fixed with the winning group for that year on a plaque.
Jeff Mew and Nuno Cerqueira (score co-ordinator) will be the contacts for this, spreadsheets will be done by Nuno and circulated regularly to the groups.
