Event Report
The third event of the series was greeted by heavy drizzle and blustery conditions which clearly had an influence on the scores last night. With a departure from the norm we had a guest planner to set the evening's challenge. Jamie Rennie produced a challenging course that had a few surprises for those that did not read the contours on the map. Surprisingly the least visited control was the closest to the start whilst those that were out and back down a steep hill seem to attract more attention! Some of you have a perverse sense of having fun.
Alan Hartley proved dominant and now has three straight wins to seal the victory for 2019. Angela Brand-Barker, taking the advantage of not organising this week, was first lady but the real battle for the title is between Fiona, Kate and Caitlin who once again were closely packing the results. Fiona's one point win over Kate snatches the lead in the league by one point from Caitlin. Still a lot of drama to be played out here.
Many thanks to the Old Mill Inn at Dearham who ensured nobody needed to go home cold and hungry.
The next event in the series will take us back to 4Play cycles at Cockermouth. Adam and Steve will kindly be opening up specially for us and am sure that they will be willing to sell you some last minute spares or go faster goodies to help you get those extra points. Snacks and drinks will be available free in the shop but there are plenty of local options for those wanting something more substantial.
As always updates will be on our Facebook page.
