Just over 20 adults and a similar number of youngsters from 4-14 years old tackled the adventurous courses in challenging weather, and survived! Participants returned muddy, ruddy cheeked and cheerful.
The overall winner - local man, Paul Fettes - managed to collect all but one control and still had 5 and a half minutes to play with, so we are pleased the course was achievable.
Congratulations to all who participated. It was muddy on the hill - like cycling through claggy chocolate porridge - and squally and cold at points. We admire your mettle.
One participant (pictured) travelled all the way from the north of England to take part. We are grateful to him for making the effort, and to all who entered, rendering our hard work completely worthwhile.
We are also grateful to Auchterhouse Village Hall Committee for making the venue available, to the bakers for providing well-deserved nourishment and to landowners for being so supportive.
We were raising money for Alyth Bike Club - a kids' club which we enjoy being part of. We had never organised such an event before and enjoyed it, so look forward to running another nearby again.
