Well that was challenging, Storm Ciara put pay to the original date, Storm Dennis damaged the only available place to cross the Wye & Storm Jorge (pronounced Georgy in Gloucestershire) threatened to delay us again. We got there in the end!

With the closure of the bridge if effectively put 20% of the map & 5 CPs out of reach so we had to do a quick rehash to make the event viable. The 2 compulsory CPs were placed in the middle of the map to draw riders away from the HQ first then the theory was to offer much more choice on which CPs to go for next. Most seemed to opt for CP1 then 2 followed by Blue 16 down by the river but that is where the similarities ended & quite a lot of route variation was seen after this.

Well done to the 40+ riders that took part, especially to anyone who got anywhere near 50% of the Control. With the additional criteria I thought a clearance was well out, but Will Dixon (M21) came very close, just dropping CP 6 & securing his second win of the season with 376. Ian Cartwright (M50) claimed second spot on 340, with Clare Dallimore (W21) & Tom Hards (M21) equal 3rd on 335

Thank you to the caterers Amanda, Lisa and Verda for the excellent grub, also to Jas, Mark, John, Ifor and Si who helped collect in the CPs at the end. We had a very generous kitty for our chosen charity and £95 will go to Severn Area Rescue Association, who have been understandably very busy during the recent floods.
