Well done to all those who braved the early stair-rod rain & rode the Pontypool Heights event an area we had not explored in full before. The trails were pretty tough after the recent wet weather but we hope you enjoyed the new area on offer. CP 1 to 5 involved some very tough climbing, with the fastest split taking over 20mins. To avoid this double climb heading south did seem to be the more economical option. This allowed more time to choose different routes to clear up the middle controls on the main mountain area & a downhill finish if time ran out. Well done to Liam Drew who came in on top, just pipping Ian Cartwright into second, with Si Gittings running in third & Rachel Drew was the highest scoring female rider in 6th place.
