When planning this event I wanted to make it difficult to clear and this proved to be correct.
I chose the area and tracks to give all riders a good ride on long stretches of bridleways with the least amounts of gates or deeply ploughed fields.
The weather, even if it was a lot colder, held and the tracks remained in great condition.
Most riders set off on a route to the north of the map after that there was a large variation on route choices.
Once in the southern area, route choice and navigation became more difficult.
Unfortunately there were several punctures - it's that time of year.

On collecting the controls today it was great to see all gates left as they should be.

The top three positions were taken by Ian Cartwight, Andy Gregg and Nuno Cerqueira all on the same finishing points but with various amounts of penalties.

It was great to see so many riders and especially the ones giving orienteering a go for the first time.
