Many thanks to everyone that attended the September event at Oxen Park, I hope you all enjoyed riding it as much as I did planning it. My first experience of mountain biking over 30 years ago was in Grizedale Forest and so it was a natural choice for my first planned event.

This area has so much potential for every discipline of off road riding and this was demonstrated by the variation of bikes people decided to ride on the day. The course was intended to give those looking for some classic Lakeland bridleways a real treat with the area boasting some of the best rocky descents around in my opinion. I also tried to accommodate those wanting to navigate the more sedate bridleways, forest roads and quiet lanes by providing ample opportunity to explore and return a decent score.

From the feedback everyone had an enjoyable day and the weather although a little wetter than advertised held off turning into a complete washout. Maybe next year someone else will plan a variation on this area and I can enjoy the riding myself. Finally many thanks to the Adam and The Manor House at Oxen Park who did a fantastic job of hosting and I think you will all agree would make an excellent venue for future events with great riding opportunities in all directions.

I look forward to the final event of 2022 in Staveley and onwards to next year and maybe even planning another event.
