Event Report
You were soooo lucky! A fine evening was followed by rain and drizzle as we collected the controls in.
Cockermouth has been used as a base many times and it is difficult to find new checkpoint sites so you will have recognised many. In the past we have used the Setmurthy area OR the Lorton valley however to add a bit of variety we used a bit of both for the first time. It mean crossing the busy A66 which I hope did not hold you up for long.
One thing that wasn't in short supply was hills. Careful planning was needed to avoid the worst of them and going by the comments received many of you need to be more careful! Despite that, everybody confessed to enjoying it once they got their breath back.
With some of the favourites not turning up this week due to illness or car problems it was interesting to see who would prevail. Well done to James Moore who took a narrow victory over Jeff Powell Davies. Rowan Matthews was top Lady. Well done all.
Thanks to all who took part in this, the second of this year's series. Another bumper entry this year. Also a big thanks to Adam and Steve of 4Play Cycles who gave up their evening to let us use the shop as a base.
The next event is from the Ennerdale Craft Brewery at Rowrah on 22nd June. There will be a full bistro menu on offer and a chance to sample their excellent 'home' brew so why not stay around and share tales of your adventures.
Look forward to seeing your there.
