Due to problems getting a venue we resorted to starting from a beach carpark and what a good choice it turned out to be. Glorious sunshine and a well renowned ice cream parlour just down the road!
Based on the shore line and knowledge from previous visits to the area many thought that this was going to be a fast and flat ride but little did they know that we were turning them inland and across the Brows on a rollercoaster ride thought the small villages that dot the Solway coast. A steady breeze added to the interest especially for those cutting the time a bit fine.
Well done to Tom Gibbs on another fine performance just failing to clear the course within the time limit. Hot on his heels with another clearance but more penalties was Nuno Cerquiera who shook off the tiredness of a long drive from Hertfordshire to take second place. Unbelievably with all of the route choice available they took identical routes.
The Women's class look set to be hotly contested this year with Caitlin Pearson just taking the honours from last year's Champion Fiona Wright, but watch out, newcomer Astrid Gibbs was only just behind.

The next event is back to one of our favourites, Mae's tea Room at Uldale in two weeks. Food and refreshments will be available to replenish you afterwards.
