We finished off the year with a visit to a new area for SLOW around the Candovers in Hampshire. The 3 weeks of rain and storms leading up to the event abated for a couple of days and we enjoyed a dry and sunny autumnal day on some muddy but largely firm tracks. Many thanks to Mark and Sid for setting an excellent course. There were plenty of choices and a big variety of routes ridden. The win was close but Nuno came in first overall with 450 points and visiting 24 out of 26 checkpoints.

This was the final event of the SLOW 2023 series and we managed to do a quick calculation in order to present the prizes. Congratulations to Ian Cartwright for taking the overall Men’s and Men’s Vets and Caroline Wharton for overall Women’s and Women’s Seniors. Nuno Cerqueira won the overall Men’s Seniors and Jane Robinson the Women’s Vets.
