Event Report
Wow summer has finally arrived! A beautiful evening greeted the riders to this new area. Rosley must be the last part of Allerdale left to be visited by the ABC series. We always thought that it was a little far for most people and also no obvious pub or cafe to use. However it did not seem to deter people and folk were happy to enjoy just tea and biscuits in the sun after their rides. Rosley village hall was recommended by Howard Leslie a number of years back and it proved to be a good venue. If anyone else has any ideas for new venues then we would love to hear from you. A new venue meant new roads to challenge you, although the South east corner had been used from Caldbeck in the past. Did you recognise it? With not that many contours on the map it proved to be surprisingly hilly. Lots of short sharp hills that didn’t merit a contour line.
Tom Gibbs was pushed hard by Alex Reed last night with both clearing the course. Caitlin Pearson on her first appearance this year took the honours over Fiona Wright. Ian Wood was again first Ebiker.
In the series Alex leads but has a one ride advantage of two time winner Tom. Salka Hintakka has a narrow lead over Fiona in what is shaping up to be a good battle for the Palace Cycles vouchers!
