Event Report
The 2016 Long Score Series finished with a blast around the Sugar Loaf and across to the lower slopes of Gilwern Hill. Based on last year’s results it was evident that given the good lane network on the map there was a distinct possibility that the course could be cleared. With this in mind we pulled the corners out a little to expand the course and dropped the points to make these outer CPs less appealing. Whilst putting the course out I reckoned a clockwise route was more efficient once, that is once you were up to CP 17. However, this did mean the prospect of venturing to CP22 early in the course (a bit daunting), especially as the main hills had yet to be attacked. My suspicions proved correct and on the day the course was cleared and a few returned early having not risked the circa 15mins for a measly 15 pointer out on the edge! Well done to the top riders Richard Haynes, Clare Dallimore and Nick Dallimore who cleared the course and the other class winners. Full results are on the BMBO Website.

The Results of this Event have now been added to the overall League and the preliminary standings are now ready. Well done to all those who rode this year even if you only rode one it was great to see you and share our beautiful area, we hope you come back for more next year.
We had over 120 riders take part across all classes Generation, Y18 to X60 and of those an encouraging 40 or so riders rode in 3 or more events. So without further ado the final results are, and boy was it close:
Overall Champion
Ian Cartwright – 392pts
Runners-Up
Gary Davies – 390pts
Mat McMillan – 389pts
Marchog y Mynydd
Richard Haynes – 656pts
Well done also to the class winners who are all listed on the Black Mountains MBO Webpage, all winners will receive a Trophy and if more than 5 riders rode in a particular class we will also award a prize to the runner-up.
