22 mountain bikers enjoyed some late summer sun in Hamsterley Forest in what ended up being the final round of the 2016 MTBO League.

Course A was a very tight affair with just over 4 minutes separating the top 5. Graham Tibbot competing in his first ever MTBO format continued his great 2016 MBO Score form to take the honours in 78:29, 2nd Edwyn Oliver-Evans 80:40 and 3rd (& 1st M40) Killian Lomas 82:04. Erika Moks finished 8th in the 13 strong field in 113:37.

Tim Evans was first over Course B, leading the M50 home in 74:32, Charlotte Somers Cocks led the women home and was 3rd overall in 80:15.

Ben Houlihan won the C Course in a great time of 55:36.

Many thanks to Steve Willis, Tony Brand Barker and John Houlihan for their support in planning my first event, I would encourage others to give it a go, you'll probably find some great trails on your doorstep that you didn't know were there! Thanks to all competitors attending the event and the positive feedback, it makes the planning feel so worthwhile.

Thanks to Tony & John for collecting controls in so I could have a more leisurely ride with Joe & Luke (with a few detours down some of their favourite routes) - hopefully next year they will be out on the C courses.

Also thanks for my family making cakes/refreshments and the kind donations made - which along with profits from the event will be donated to the Great North Air Ambulance.
