Firstly the great posts on FB are really appreciated and it is always fun to plan and organise a MBO event in Govilon where Black Mountains MBO first began a few short years ago.

Last year the course was almost cleared so I used the extra trails to make the centre of the map a bit more interesting and also extend the area to include the old Brynmawr railway line. Both those measures seemed to work and we had quite a lot of route variation, hope you enjoyed the new bits.

That said it was one of the closest events we've had, 1st Ian Cartwright (M50) 449 (3hrs 30' 16") 2nd Michael Holloway (M21) 449 (3hrs 37' 02" those two seconds equate to 2 pen points unlucky Michael) 3rd Ifor Powell (m40) 448 (3hrs 35'1 5"). Ouch! The W cat was topped by Clare Dallimore (W21) 435 (4th overall) 2nd Iwona Szmyd (W21) 420 and 3rd was Caroline Dallimore (W60) 250.

A big thank you as ever to the Catering Team Amanda and Verda, also to Chris, Ifor, Ian and Tim for helping clear down, I got back to the car before the rain.

Thank you to the South East Wales Hang Gliding & Para Gliding Club, Pwll Du Conservation Group and Celtic Energy for allowing us to use the trails on the open moor that are not designated as Bridleways. We took £61 in the collection on Sunday and this will go towards Public Right of Way repairs and I plan investigate if anything can be done to improve the track across the bog near CPs 8!

Next Event is a brand new area around the Brechieniog Forest near Brecon on the 25 June and can I please encourage you to register for the National Championships weekend on 22 & 23 July. The price includes free camping Friday and Saturday night and a BBQ, we could really do with a good idea of how many to cater for.
