MTBO Events. What Are They?

You must navigate, in numerical sequence, a series of control points. The winner is the competitor with the fasted time.

Control sites are identified by white/orange markers, each of which has an electronic punch, to provide proof of visit.

Mapping

MTBO events usually use orienteering maps. These are very detailed maps with symbols to denote track rideability, track width, fence lines etc.
